It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

Well it was a reasonable week. We had cool but pleasant weather with one evening of rain. Not much or enough but at least some. My winter wood came on Tuesday and I spent that day putting it away. Usually I do it over about three days but not this time. I was rather stiff the next day. I think I might have to get a bit more but the thought of wheelbarrowing it around the back and stacking is too fresh in my mind at the moment.

We changed our clocks this week, so that will take a little adjusting too as it always does until it feels totally normal again.

What I read last week:

All good reads. I really liked The Beautiful Mystery, it is very tempting to go straight into the next one but there are library and review books waiting so will have to wait a while.

What I am reading now:

I am listening to…

And also. The Wanderer by Robyn Carr. A reread but on Audible Plus so I am enjoying that book all over again.

I continue on with my slow and steady read. It’s not gripping but I want to see how it all works out. I can see some of them are going to meet a crisis point.

  1. The Underground Library and Just for the Summer are both on my TBRs and I’m looking forward to them both. I can definitely see getting sore after putting all the winter wood away! My husband spent a day cleaning up fallen limbs and stuff from a storm we had a few weeks ago and I made him take some Advil before he went to bed to hopefully keep from being too sore. We are definitely not as young as we used to be. I hope you’re having a great week!

  3. I’ve never read Louise Penny’s books even though I’ve seen them everywhere. I should start because they look really good. I loved Legends & Lattes and I hope you did too. The Underground Library looks really good too! I hope you enjoy it!

  4. Your book photos always lure me in. I just read a sample of The Beautiful Mystery. I’ve never read a Louise Penny book, but the first chapter kind of hooked me, so I’m putting it on my list. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  5. I also have Secrets of Riverside to read, Kathryn. I hope we both love it. I have harvested my pumpkins today and cleaned up all the mess. I had several things to do in town this morning, including returning a library book. I have the sprinkler going on my Avocado tree – everything is so dry! I also need to pull out my tomato plants as they are all finished, but as several have monarch butterfly chrysalis’s hanging off them I am reluctant to disturb them. There is also one on my basil plant, and one hanging off my back porch. Have a great week. 💕📚

  6. Kathryn, Here in the U.S. we changed our clocks 3 weeks ago, and I still haven’t adjusted.  The big deal here this week is the solar eclipse tomorrow.  Here in Indianapolis we are in the path of totality. I also have a Louise Penny mystery and The Underground Library on my reading schedule for this month.  This weekend I reread Ryan’s Chilbury Ladies Choir for my neighborhood book club.  None of the other members had ever read one of her books before.  Judy Zell

  7. I understand you wanting to just jump into the next book after reading The Beautiful Mystery. It’s hell having to wait for the next book since I got caught up. The only thing worse is coming to the end of a series!

Legends & Lattes was on my want to read list, but after seeing it here, I’ve decided to put a hold on it at my library.
