Well its Monday, and a dull overcast day with threat of rain and wind to come. We did get some sunshine during the week here and there which was gobbled up! One day I picked up a friend in the city and we went around to our favourite chip shop in Eastbourne to collect oysters and scallops and chips. It was too windy and cold to get out of the car but we parked by the sea and that was great. Plus no scavenging seagulls!
What I read last week:
An Island Wedding was an audiobook that I had been listening to for some time, and I loved it. Other books will get reviews of some sort in time.
What I am reading now:
I picked up a book off my TBR that I bought on a whim when in the bookshop in 2018. Making progress on those shelves. Not far in but set in Scotland which is always a plus.
I am listening to The Summer Scoop
A novella from the Eternity Springs series.
Up next:
A library book came in so that’s up next. Finally our library did away with fines and followed many other libraries that do that overseas. I don’t usually get fines but I know one niece it will bring back to the library!
Love overcast skies that give the hope for wind and rain. It’s monsoon season here in Tucson, Arizona, although it hasn’t rained much. I’m reading Lethal Practice by Peter Clement and am enjoying it. It’s a medical thriller. I like to watch Grey’s Anatomy and Chicago Med.

No scavenging seagulls is always good and I’m so glad you were able to spend time with your friend despite the blustery weather. The Sarah Jio book is on my TBR. It sounds wonderful. Our library has dropped fines for the summer to encourage kids reading now that school is out. Enjoy your reading!

Yes, our library jumped on the fine-free bandwagon recently. We’ve yet to see how it will affect the library budget in the long run! In my state, each town is responsible for maintaining its own library, paying dues to belong to a network for sharing resources among the towns in the network. Your books look very summery! Good for this side of the world. Right now we’re stuck in an oppressive heat wave all week!

Yes I always felt a library fine was a good donation to the library, I do hope they get funded well. Now we can request books from a number of libraries and with Libby it does make it more community focused.

I’m hoping to listen to An Island Wedding. Love that series.
And I love scallops. Have a good week, Kathryn. Hopefully with more sunshine.

Wow, no library fines! That would be a good thing for me!
It’s about to rain/storm here, too, but it’s hot and humid – going to be in the 90’s for at least the next 9 days!! I am barely stepping outside, which I hate – I love nature & the outdoors but just can’t tolerate this heat.
Sounds like you had a nice week – I love being at the beach, even in bad weather (in fact, I prefer it in the off-season when there are no crowds!). And some good books!
Enjoy your books this week, too, and thanks for hosting the linkup – going to try to catch up on visits this week!

I need to start listening to the Jenny Colgan book. I have listened to all of the others, so I feel as though I should finish the series in the same way!

Mmm…potato scollops are so good, especially if they are hand cut and battered (not the hash brown kind).
Nora Goes Off Script sounds like a lovely romcom, enjoy!
Wishing you a great reading week
