It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from
Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at
The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of
Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.
Well I know! It’s December, so hard to believe. My reading is still slow but still getting a little done. At present I am watching cricket on TV and writing this post. Other things are getting in the road of reading!
Hope you have all recovered from your Thanksgiving celebrations and had safe travel if you had to take transport.
What I read last week:
Only book I read this week, and it was very good. Because it was a rather noir mystery/suspense I decided to leave Celine by Peter Heller to a little later.
What I am reading now:
So I chose this lovely Christmas book that has been sitting on my shelf for a few weeks waiting for the right time.
And no advance with my audiobook, I sure need to pick it up again and get going with it!
Up next:
I intend making a choice from one of these according to my mood at the time….
I’ll pick after finishing my present read.

Gads, I love Sarah Morgan and was reading all of her series, until a cover change messed me up and then I missed a book and darn it, I never picked her back up. Not on purpose, just that I kept meaning to read the book I missed first and finish that series and well you know… LOL

The cover of the Emilie Richards book looks like a New Orleans setting! I’m searching for books set there now that I’m spending basically the whole month there! The Sarah Morgan looks fun and so lovely and Christmas-y. Have a great week!

I know…how can is possibly be December already?!?
I really enjoyed Celine – I think you will like it. The author was at Booktopia one year, discussing Celine, and he explained that it is based on his real-life mother!! Once you read it, you will see how amazing that is. He said the most absurd parts that people say are unrealistic are the things that are true in real life and really happened. So, keep that in mind as you read it – adds an extra dimension to it!
Enjoy your books this week and thanks for hosting the link-up!

I’ve been wanting to read Sarah Morgan’s books and this sounds so good. My reading has slowed up too. Too much going on right now, I guess. I hope you have a great week!

I hope you love the Sarah Morgan book. I read her Christmas book from last year – about sisters in Scotland (I think). It was good and put me a nice holiday mood. Have a lovely week, Kathryn.

Kathryn we had a good Thanksgiving no travel involved. I LOVED both the Singh and the Morgan. I reviewed The Madness of Sunshine for Library Journal it was my first foray into this author who I’ve heard so much about in her other genres. What I found most interesting was the cultural divide and how well she both meshed it into the story but didn’t make a big deal about it either. A Wedding in December is so special Sarah just keeps getting better and better. Can’t wait to see your reviews!!! xo

Oh I love your take on The Madness of Sunshine. I feel she nailed the setting and feel of our country. You have to read her paranormal.

Hard to believe that it is December…I know we talked about how fast time was going last year and this year – 2019.
Love the Australian cover of NEVER HAVE I EVER. I hope you like the book.
Have a wonderful day, Kathryn.

We had a nice Thanksgiving. Our guests arrived safely — albeit with a drive that took ten hours instead of five — and they arrived home safe yesterday.

Yikes what a long drive for them.
