It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

Welcome in to another Monday. Don’t they come around so fast!

I had a good reading week and am about to start a couple of new books.

I had a normal week for me, all the usual stuff. Time with a good friend and time with family. Time to quilt and time to read.

My lawn mowing man retired so today I have to start ringing around to see if I can find someone else – not my favourite thing to do!

What I read last week:

Really loved all three of these.

What I am reading now:

book cover

Listening to (an a reread)

The Color of Light

Up next:

The London Girls

  1. Sounds like a good week and how wonderful to have 3 good books! Hopefully what you’re reading now is just as good. So sorry to hear your lawn guy is retiring. I don’t enjoy hiring people or going through the process of all the calls.
PS I’ll be curious to see what you think of Kate Hewitt. I think you’ll like her books. Her historicals area bit more fraught than her contemporary books but I’ve enjoyed both.

  2. Yes, Mondays do come around awfully fast! I listened to The Reading List on audio and didn’t like it as much as I had expected to. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts! Good luck with the dreaded phone calling!

  3. Sounds like a very nice week, Kathryn – time with friends and family is always good. I got to spend time with my closest friend last week, and it was wonderful – we both needed it!

I really need to try Jojo Moyes!

Hope you enjoy your books this week –

  4. Oh! I love “normal weeks”! I hope you find a lawn mowing person soon! Yes, Moyes and Bowen are fabulous authors! I’ve not read Thomas yet. The Reading List was a wonderful book! Happy reading week to you!

  5. Glad you had an enjoyable and balanced week, Kathryn. I’m hoping for a quieter week and to be able to catch up with a few friends. The builders are finished and gone for the time being. Now I just need to put all the furniture back where it belongs. It’ll be 6 – 8 weeks before they start the bathroom.
Is it feeling very autumnal down your way? Have a wonderful week. 🤗❤📚

  6. Your book covers always make me think of home, back in North Carolina. Sure enough, I just looked up The Color of Light and the series is set in Asheville, NC, my hometown! I bet you would love my state if you ever got to visit. Good luck finding a new lawn service!
