It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

Line break

This week I’ve been wilting somewhat in our very humid heat.  It makes me heavy headed and sleeping at night is challenging! We are promised some cooler night temperatures though this week. And this is while so many in the US have icy weather. I notice the mornings and evenings are closing in as well.

We have a holiday weekend – Waitangi Day – our national holiday which commemorates the signing of the Treaty with the Maori and British government. It sometimes brings controversy but on the whole goes well.

What I read last week:

One lone book I finished this week. A worthwhile and entertaining read. Very informative as well about Jewish customs and the chronic disease ME.

The Matzah Ball

What I am reading now:

I think only a quilter would want to read this to be honest.

Birds in the Air

Also continue to read my slow reads and listen to Michelle Obama and The Light We Carry.

Up next:

Archangel's Resurrection

  1. Right now I would trade you your humid heat for the cold we’ve been having 😉
I really have to read one of Nalini’s fantasy novels. Have a great week!

  2. So glad you enjoyed The Matzah Ball! The author portrayed ME quite accurately (because, of course, she has it, too). I also want to read the new Michelle Obama – probably listen on audio since I loved her first memoir read by her!

Enjoy your books this week –

    1. Sue I got the recommendation to read The Matzah Ball from you and I would read another book by the author happily. It was great. Michelle Obama is really good on the audio and what she shares is very valuable and relatable to . I am getting a lot from it.

  3. Such a pretty cover for Birds in the Air! Yes, we are getting tired of the cold weather here in the northeast U.S. — I can probably speak for most, if not all! Sorry you are sweltering in the humidity, though!

  4. I have The Matzoh Ball on my TBR mountain. I liked Archangel’s Resurrection and hope you do too. I hope your nights cool down so that you can sleep. Hot nights are the worst part of hot weather for me too. Thanks for hosting.

  5. I hope your evenings cool so you can get better sleep, Kathryn. I don’t think I finished reading a book last week. I like the one I’m reading but just feel pulled in other directions. Now a few library loans have come in so I need to get to those.

  6. I hope you get a break in the heat soon! As much as I complain about the rain, snow, etc, I actually find cold weather easier to deal with than really hot weather. At least when it is cold, you can just go inside. We have air conditioning in our home, but that only goes so far when it is unusually hot.
