Bookish Goals for 2023

Top Ten Tuesday

Today I am taking part in The Artsy Reader Girl’s  link up.

Today’s topic asks us to name our bookish goals for 2023.

  1. Keep up the habit I started in 2022 of having slow steady reads. A morning one with coffee and an evening bed one.
  2. Read less review books and more books from my own shelf or list.
  3. Continue to read the Louise Penny books starting at #3. Not planning on them all in one year but about four might be about right.
  4. Read at least 100 books – Goodreads goal.
  5. Read books from my Kindle – at least two a month. That would lead to twenty four by the end of the year. I concentrated on my actual bookshelf in 2022 and my Kindle owned books have grown.
  6. Continue to include audiobooks and to perhaps increase the time in the day where I listen to them. Listen to the ones I already have before using credits for more.  Who am I kidding!
  7. Emilie Richards Reading Challenge – light touch, just what I want.
  8. Keep up with my favourite book podcasts – What Should I Read Next? and Currently Reading.
  9. Read more about The Science of Reading or listen to You Tube videos to increase my skill and knowledge for teaching reading. (Retired teacher, but helping my great – nephew  with his reading.
  10. Read about two books a week, not rushing through them, well except when they are so riveting I have to keep on reading, ignoring all else in my life!

  1. Those sound like great goals for a great year of reading, Kathryn! Glad to hear you liked Louise Penny so much that you’re continuing them. I’ve been listening to each new release on audio the past few years, though I haven’t gone back to #2, etc (I read 1, 15, 17 so far). Though I’m getting the first books from the excellent Three Pines TV show!

I hadn’t heard of the Currently Reading podcast – might have to check that out (even though I am already trying to follow way too many podcasts!

Hope you have a wonderful reading year!

  2. I love your goals and have started trying to incorporate a slow read into my day as well as my usual reading. I want to read more Emilie Richards this year. I read No River Too Wide last year and loved it and want to read more of that series.

  3. Wow some great goals there Kathryn, I am so getting Harry’s book, I’ve been on the fence for a while and Chirp has the audio for 21.99 I’m getting it. I am also hitting my backlist more. Thanks for sharing xo

  4. Good luck with your goals, Kathryn. I have started the year as I plan to go on, having a ‘purely for pleasure’ read on the go at all times, and reading my way through Elly Griffiths Ruth Galloway series. ❤📚
