Sitting here Boxing Day morning feeling a little tired but pleasantly so. Christmas Day was lovely. I think I am off to a family picnic today, for a little while any way. Hope you are all managing with that cold dump going over USA. Happy reading for the week with all those new books. I made the mistake of giving Mr. 9 year old a Dad’s Jokes book as a gift. He peppered us with Dad jokes for a lo…………ng time! Bittersweet because a year ago he couldn’t read!
What I read last week:
What I am reading now:
I had planned another book but then well I shelved it and went for this one just published.
And I still have some slow reads going and an audiobook I mentioned last week and haven’t started yet!
Up next:
A library book which needs to be fitted in before it has to go back.

Will would absolutely love a Dad Joke book but there’s no way we’d ever hear the end of it! A Boxing Day picnic sounds absolutely wonderful. I’m not enjoying the cold but luckily it won’t stay cold for long here. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Merry Christmas, Kathryn! Sounds like you had a nice day with family. Laughed about your nephew with the joke book! I know you helped him learn to read, so bravo to you – sounds like it worked!
Going to a picnic sounds strange, since we’ve had HIGHS in the 20’s! Hope you enjoyed it.
Enjoy this quiet week and your books … and Happy New Year!

Have a lovely Boxing Day Katherine and yes the cold dump is the perfect description. Today’s low was 9 degrees F. Tomorrow’s high will be 60 degrees F. and we’ll all have pneumonia LOL

I’m glad you had a wonderful Christmas Day Kathryn. I remember giving Kayden a similar book at around that age. He’s almost 16 now but we still message one another lame jokes. ❤📚🎄

A picnic sounds nice! We ventured out for a short walk this afternoon, but it was too late in the day and the sun was going down. It was COLD!
Tomorrow it’s back to work for me, but our daughter is staying on for a few more days, so it stretches the holiday out for a little longer. Postpones the let-down that comes before I embrace all the free time after the holiday stuff is put away for another year.
I like the sound of Killers of a Certain Age!

Glad your holidays were pleasant! I enjoyed Killers of a Certain Age and hope you do too. I found I couldn’t step into Bread Over Troubled Water. It was a DNF for me. Thanks for hosting!

I had a laugh over the 9yo telling the Dad jokes! I hope you had a nice picnic. We’re still in the frigid temps in my area but the forecast looks a bit warmer this week so I’m encouraged. I’ve missed my daily walks! Have a good week and enjoy your reading, Kathryn.
