It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.
Happy New Year to all those I haven’t caught up with yet. Hope it has started well.
I am feeling the heat these couple of days. Can hardly drag myself around the house its so hot, I guess though it will cool in a few days. In the meantime all the doors and windows are open!
I didn’t see the New Year in, I think I may have slept through the midnight change over!
What I read last week:
What I am reading now:
My first book of the year
And listening to…
Up next:
My first review read for 2022.
Happy New Year! When we were raising kids we usually stayed home for NYE. Once we became empty nesters, we’ve always gone out. The cycle will probably come back around to staying in in another few years when we’re retired!
Thanks for another year of hosting the IMWAYR link-up!

I am missing the heat a bit here in the Bay Area; we are cold when it’s in the 30’s-50’s. When I work out in the garage, I have to wear three layers. I’m thinking of getting some longer socks because the workout leggings I have are capri-length, LOL. I am going to further investigate the Miss Austen book.

Happy New Year, Kathryn! And I hear you! I just barely make it to midnight each NYE and head to bed at 12:05! I am usually asleep by 10:30, so it’s a big deal for me.
Looks like you are starting the year off right, with a nice variety of good books – enjoy!
Thanks for hosting the linkup –

We are frigid cold in my area – good time to stay inside and read. I hope you get more comfortable temps soon. Looking forward to your thoughts on the new Shalvis. I’ll have to get on my library’s audio reserve list when it publishes.
I haven’t made it to midnight on NYE in years!

It’s good to hear of others not making it awake through the NYE! One chapter in and liking the Shalvis book. Starts with action which is always engaging.

We were burning up with the heat on New Year’s Day (and it’s winter here!) and then last night it almost froze. Crazy weather!
Happy New Year!

We also slept through midnight, and no regrets!
Wish I could send you a blast of cold air!

It’s winter here in Belgium but there hasn’t been any winter weather so far. Makes me so sad. I want snow!

Oh yes. I’d want snow in winter too.

It was super hot here too!
Are you listening to the Richard Armitage narrated version of Venetia! I highly recommend it!

Dang! It’s not the Richard Armitage one and the narrator isn’t that wonderful on mine.

Can I trade you? It’s a bit nippy here.
Miss Austen and The Family You Make both sounds great. Hope you enjoy your books this week.

Hate when it’s super hot and I can’t get cool. Right now it’s snowing outside so I think I might trade some of your heat for some of my cold! Happy new year and enjoy your books!

Happy New Year to you, too! While you are dealing with the heat, we’re coming off snow here in the PNW of the USA! Honestly, a trip to New Zealand to enjoy your heat sounds quite good about now!

It’s always a bit of a surprise knowing you are hot while people here are so cold. 🙂
We stayed up to welcome the new year in Central time! It is the first time in years.
Looks like you are starting the year off with good reading.
I need to read a Marie Force book one of these days.
I hope you have a great week and Happy Reading!
