It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from
Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at
The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of
Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

Hope you all had a good week. Mine was grey and wet. Today not raining but very windy! But we have passed the shortest day so that’s looking towards summer now!!
I didn’t get much reading done this week but am loving the book I am reading and don’t want to rush through it, I can see myself having to return a book or two to the library, as others have them reserved. Guess will just get on the reserve list again!
What I read last week:

What I am reading now:
And yes Kathy Martin I am loving Fire Keeper’s Daughter. I keep stopping to look up places on the map. More to say about this book when I finish.

Also listening to The Sweeney Sisters.

So funny – we just had the longest day of the year and were marveling last night at 9 pm at how light it still was outside! Also very hot and humid here – all week – ugh. Summer’s not my favorite season – just too uncomfortable to spend time outdoors, which is what I love. Yesterday morning, I thought I could handle just 30 min of weeding – in the shade – since it was still in the 70’s. Nope – came in totally drenched in sweat 30 min later! Local weather said the humidity on their “heat index” was between sweltering and unbearable!
Anyway, sounds like a good reading week for you. I’ve been hearing such great things about The Fire Keeper’s Daughter!
Enjoy your books this week and thanks for hosting the linkup!

It just makes me so aware of Indian culture and challenges in the modern world and I love the main character too.

No Fire Keeper’s Daughter isn’t my usual fare but sometimes going outside the box is rewarding. Good YA book is a good book.

The funny thing is I have read one of her books but actually got her mixed up with another author when I dived on this book, but I see good reviews on GR so that’s promising.
