First Book of the Year 2021

book coverWell I have made that all important choice of what book to start my reading life in 2021. Plus I really enjoy seeing what others have chosen.

So I have gone for a backlist book published in 2014.
It’s #2 in a series.
It is a cozy mystery.
It comes from the library.
It has a link to a hobby I love.

I’ve had it sitting here for a little while as I was saving it up, because I could. The library gives 5 weeks for having it out over the holiday period.

This year I hope to read a few more cozy mysteries, I enjoyed the first one in this series, and was interested in a few quilting tips I didn’t know about. One was if you prick your finger and get a bit of blood on the fabric, your spit will help take it out! I haven’t had to test that yet!photo with first book 2021

Knot in My Backyard by Mary Marks. I love that blue quilt on the cover!

  1. I had read the first book of this series some time ago and it was a good one with good action scenes. How great that you’ve picked up a new tip for quilting. Yay for being off to a great start.

  2. Yay a cozy! I so hope you enjoy it and you’ve definitely got me wanting to read this series. I’m not a quilter but my grandmother was and I’ve always been fascinated by it. It’s something I want to learn how to do.

  3. Clever twist on the title and I also think that blue cover is lovely! I only saw the First Book of the Year meme this morning, so no photo from my side. I just listed my first read of the year with my Weekend Book Friends!

    Happy New Year Kathryn!

    Lots of Love,
