Today I am off out to my first venture since Covid into a cafe to meet up with a group of friends. Up until now I had had my groceries delivered but last week I ventured into the supermarket myself.

Hope you had a great time with your friends. Do you have to wear masks? I’m slowly getting used to going out and have realised we need more masks as I’ve been washing the five we have over and over.

Stefanie no we are not wearing masks. It’s not quite so prevalent here, we were free for some days until there were some big mess ups at the border and now we have new cases, but not widespread enough at this point for masks.

We went to a restaurant for the first time since March this past Friday. It was kind of weird but nice to be out! That Jenny Colgan is calling my name and What You Wish For looks really good. I really want try her books. Have a great week!

If you want to try Katherine Center don’t start with What You Wish For. Not her best in my opinion.

We are also cautiously putting our toes out the door. I’ve gone to the shopping market and to donate blood (wearing my mask). And we went out to eat on the deck of our favorite restaurant.

Wow, exciting times for you! We’re not eating out with friends yet, but my husband and I did just grab breakfast this morning at a place with some outdoor tables – what a treat!!
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts about the new Katherine Center novel – I really enjoyed The Things You Save in a Fire. And I keep hearing about Catherine Ryan Hyde – I really need to give her a try!

2020 Big Book Summer Challenge

This is my last week of working completely from home, so I’m trying to enjoy it! We’ve been having some outdoor meet-ups with friends, mainly for line dancing in the open air, and it’s so nice to see people in real life! Still haven’t gone to the supermarket myself (my husband goes) and my husband and I haven’t gone out to eat yet. It seems like a big hassle and we both like to cook, so trying to eat out will be in the next phase for us! Hope you get your reading and listening time in this week!

Thanks Laurie. I am not a big eater out, I’d never miss it, except its a place to meet up with friends which is the drawcard.

I know Mary! I saw your thoughts on GR! I am about 45%. Because it is school related I identify with some things. But don’t like it as much as her previous book. Liking the Colgan book but the narrator keeps going Part 2 Chapter 3 etc all the time and it interrupts!

We went to the grocery store too last week, kind of scary but at the same time it felt like getting out of prison. We’re starting to venture out more masks are a must with us age and condition. It looks like a good week Kathryn

Though no curfew now, no one is actually getting about despite the fact that there is no community transmission of the virus. We have had cluster transmissions from foreign returnees and the Navy (all in camps) but people are being cautious. Enjoy the time with friends. I miss that dearly.

I know Mystica cautious is how I feel too. So pleased to hear that about Sri Lanka, sounds very similar to ourselves.

Glad to hear that things are going so well in the Covid fight that you are able to get out and about. I think we’re a long way off from that over here!

Venturing out felt good for me, but it’s all so strange, too. Nothing is the same.

The Woman Next Door you would totally understand and get, however Australian author so not sure of availability in USA. It was about people in their 60’s and 70’s.

Yay for getting out and spending time with friends. We went out to dinner this week and it was nice to see people all enjoying themselves. Looking forward to Daring and the Duke.
