It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

Well a good week again. Again I went into the city one day during the week and we crossed the harbour on the ferry – went for a bush walk and then a swim. The weather wasn’t as warm as last week but still okay. I would hate though to travel into the city every morning in that traffic and I was only hitting the tail end. This week I plan to see the movie Little Women before it totally disappears from theatres. Just takes me awhile to do these things!

What I read last week:

The Ten Thousand Doors of January is a fantasy book that I really liked, I’ll certainly read Alix E. Harrow’s next one which has something to do with witches. I finished listening to The Girl on Legare Street. I left too many gaps in-between listening and so got a little lost but I enjoyed it. The Grace Kelly Dress is a review book, and all I will say here is I think the title is misleading.

What I am reading now:

I read very few cozy mysteries but Katherine over at I wish I Lived in a Library,  reviewed the most recent one in the series and I decided why not give it a go. I’ll hopefully read through the series all going well!

  1. My book went to see Little Women together, and then went out to lunch to discuss it. We had people who had never read the book and people (like me!) who noticed which lines of dialogue were from the book or which had been altered. It made for a fun meeting. I hope you like it!

  2. I’m a little nervous about that cozy! I hope you enjoy it! I love the series but I know it’s definitely a different genre for you! Susan Mallery’s books are really calling my name lately and I need to pick up some of her books. I’m in the middle of The Storm Sister (the one about the yachting sister) and I’m really enjoying it. Have a great week!

    1. Relax Katherine. I am really enjoying the cozy. It’s funny and the characters are dears. And of course Elvis is delightful. I want to see where they all end up so will keep reading the series.

  3. We had unseasonably warm temps yesterday (55 F) so we went for a walk in our neighborhood. It was lovely. Winter is still here though and we expect at least six inches of snow by Wednesday. I’ll plan some good reading time for then. I hope you enjoy your books this week and have more outdoor time too!

  4. Thanks for sharing! I do not miss the traffic jams either Kathryn and always try to plan our trips to docs etc when everyone else is off the roads. Thanks for sharing your week with us

  5. I just watched a version of Little Women on Prime, but it isn’t the newest one. This one came out in 2018, I guess. Anyway, it was okay, but I thought I was watching the newest one…and couldn’t figure out why the actors were different people. LOL.

I have pre-ordered the newest one on Prime, and it’s supposed to arrive in March.

    Enjoy your week.
