It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.
Welcome in again everyone. Hope you are all doing okay. As planned I am reading a little slower this year and only a couple of review books a month. Its very liberating! I think I am recognising my present reading taste too some more and while I recognise a book is good it might not be for me.
All the best for the coming week.
What I read last week:
What I am reading now:
and still listening to The Sometime Sisters.
Up next:
Happy reading this week!

Your new approach sounds so enticing, Kathryn! Nothing about my life is slow right now, so that is extra attractive to me. Even my reading is often rushed in order to fit in book group reads … and, as you know, I always seem to be behind in my reviews! i did do a single post with 3 mini reviews last week to help catch up. I may need to do more of that.
I always enjoy Elizabeth Berg novels but haven’t read one in years. I have one on my shelf right now that I picked out at our local used bookstore as my “free birthday book” last year – I need to get to it. Thanks for the reminder!
Enjoy your slow, relaxed reading this year and thanks for hosting the linkup! (I am behind on that this week, too!)

Last year, I read much slower than usual. I agree that it is freeing not to worry about review books and numbers. I hope you have a great week!

The Karen Rose looks creepy and I really want to try more fro Diane Chamberlain. Oh and Elizabeth Berg! I’m convinced I’ve read some of her books but when it comes down to it I don’t think I actually have.

Katherine the Diane Chamberlain book is great so hope you do get to read it sometime. Yes Karen Rose is always a little creepy, but in small doses thank goodness!

It’s good to know what your book tastes are – I am still exploring as well honestly, and have stopped reading books that don’t work for me. I don’t want reading to become a chore. 🙂 Have a great week!!

Exactly Erin, I’ve been saying yes to the kind of books I used to read or just have a slight interest. No more hopefully!!

Good for you and your 2020 resolutions. I’m also more and more picky with books to review. Curious to know your thoughts about Night of Miracles

I liked it, second in a series. Uplifting and sweet. Not as good as the first but I think the third is going to be very promising.

Ah slowing down, that’s a great idea. Now just to convince myself of it and to learn to say NO! LOL Thanks for sharing Kathryn, I’m still recovering from my knee surgery the surgery went really good but now I am severely anemic and am always tired. I’m taking iron supplements and the doc says in a few weeks I’ll be as good as new and I mentioned that I’m old so how is that supposed to happen. LOL 🙂

Being anemic is no fun, and I guess the supplements aren’t either. But hope that blood count is up soon and you are dancing about!!

I’ve been reading slower too lately- stopping to smell the roses, as it were, rather than rushing through books, it seems like. some of that was the holiday busyness, I’m sure, but some of it is intentional too. Big Lies In A Small Town looks like one I’d like.
Have a great week!

I’ve found that I’m enjoying my reading more now that I’ve slowed it down and unencumbered it.
Have a great week!
