It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

And another week speeds by. We had our big annual book fair on Saturday. Its fund raising for quite a few worthy causes so I like to go, although… I don’t need any books! And I only picked up a couple for myself. However a friend likes to read Dick Francis (he wrote horse racing crime books)  and as my friend is recovering from an Op, I went seeking … crawling around under trestles and in boxes and managed to come up with about five so that was satisfying!

What I read last week:

This looks a lot but I had almost finished All About Evie last Monday and One Wish is a novella. Giver of Stars was my audiobook that I finished. So good! If you like her books don’t miss it. I also bought the audio of The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek, as it was on special so will listen to that soon to compare.

What I am reading now:

Just beginning this, all novellas – review book.

Started listening to this one because I needed something simple after The Giver of Stars and to give me a break before I listen to The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.

Up next:

I am going to wait to decide. I’ll need something riveting I think so I’ll decide a little later in the week.

  1. I’m a big DIck Francis fan, and also a Courtney Milan fan. So lots of fun books this week. I grew up in Texas so it’s always fun to see books set there.

  2. I like this meme because you get so many good book recommendations from bloggers.
We are having a book fair right now in Colombo and the choice was excellent. Prices were half of what is normal so good all around.

  3. Oh, I’m a sucker for a cowboy story. I’ll have to look that one up. What a true friend you are, crawling about and digging through dusty boxes of books for your friend. Bless your heart.

  4. Looks like you are getting in the holiday spirit in your reading!

I really want to read some Jojo Moyes novels but haven’t yet. I enjoyed the movie version of Me Before You (though I know many of the fans of the book did not!).

Enjoy your books and have a great week, Kathryn! Thanks for hosting the linkup –

  5. I just got The Giver of Stars in the post this week and can’t wait to read it! I have loved everything Jojo Moyes has written before so I know I’ll love this one.

  6. I hadn’t heard about Giver of Stars, and I didn’t expect that this author writes books that leave you wanting something lighter. Interesting. I will look for it. The Stationery Shop of Tehran sounds fascinating, too.

I hope you have a lovely week!

  7. The Moyes is on my wish list! Enjoy the Courtney Milan audio. Good idea to use as an in-between book. Nice find for your friend at the library sale. I donate but haven’t shopped ours in quite a while. Have a good week!

  8. I always love our book fair too, and do not need books either but HAVE to go. 🙂

So sweet of you to crawl around and find some Dick Francis books for your friend.

And…yes….this week has flown by for me too.

    Have a great week, Kathryn.

  9. I haven’t read Moyes but I just added Giver of Stars to my Audible wish list (a list that is ridiculously long). I came close to picking up The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek but I am trying to resist Daily Deals as I have so many books even on my Audible shelf.
I hope you have a great week and Happy Reading!
