Welcome in all. I had a good week, except for Friday when I inadvertently put a machine sewing needle right through my finger. Clunk. Panic for a moment, but I jumped in the car and off I went. So a visit to the medical centre to get it out. Left index finger and as I am a touch typist at the moment I am doing lots of mistakes in the letters. However will take bandage off tomorrow. I couldn’t believe that they gave me a tetanus shot, a week of antibiotics and sent me for an X-ray. In our country we have Accident Compensation Insurance that I guess we pay for in taxes so that paid most of the costs! But I thought it was overkill. Just take it out!
I went to a family party for my brother in laws big 0 birthday Saturday night, and that was really enjoyable. It’s good to catch up when family come from all around the country.

Ouch! I hope you didn’t get blood all over your car on the way to get help!
I read the J.D. Robb earlier this year and I’m looking forward to the next one. I did think she could have done more with the connections theme, like if the first victim had more of a connection to Eve or something.

Ouch about the finger! Glad they got the needle out but it does sound like overkill! What are you thinking of The House on Tradd Street? I read one of the more recent books and the main character drove me crazy but I loved everything else about it. The Recipe Box is calling my name. I need to find out more about it! Have a great week!

Oh, my gosh!! Glad you weren’t badly hurt, but that must have been painful. Can’t believe you drive yourself to the medical center! We know all about overkill here, too – took my 94-year old father-in-law to the ER this spring for a bad respiratory virus that left him to weak to take care of himself, and they kept him for 4 days in the hospital, ran all kinds of expensive tests for stroke (no signs of stroke!), heart disease, and all kinds of other stuff and finally announced to us on the 4th day that he had a rhinovirus…aka the common cold! Man. We were all glad to get him back home! I guess it’s better than no healthcare, right?
Looks like some good books for you lately and a fun family gathering, too.
Enjoy your books this week, watch those fingers, and thanks for hosting!

Oh, my, about the sewing machine needle! I had hit “Publish” on my blog post right before leaving for work today, and now on my break I open my laptop to post the link here and see that WP was waiting for me to click OK (that I didn’t want editing suggestions). So it never posted. An annoyance, but not an ordeal like you had! Your reading choices sound nice and relaxing. I’m reading a cozy mystery for that reason, because my usual tends to be on the darker side, and makes me tense!

I am always terrified that will happen to me when I sew. I’m sad it happened to you, hope you heal quickly! The Recipe Box is on my TBR, I think it might be something fun to read with my mom.

Normally I’d say it wouldn’t happen but I must have been not watching properly.

The Recipe Box was a sweet read. Interesting that the author is a man using a pen name.
