It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

Hope you all had a good week, I hear many from the USA talking about the hot, sticky conditions. Ouch. We’ve had mildish, coolish, wet conditions. To be honest though it doesn’t feel like we’ve had a decent winter – which I love!  Send in the cold before its too late!

I finished a quilt for a grandniece, looking at the sky today, it’s blue, so just maybe I could wash it. I don’t have a dryer so I depend on the weather, there is very little wind though and will be about 14 degrees C, so???

What I read last week:

What I am reading now:

And still listening to Nina Hill.

Up next:

This one is a possibility from the library, will depend on what I feel like when I get to the next book!

  1. How sweet of you to make a quilt for your grand niece. It is very hot where i am ( Massachusetts-USA). Thanks for hosting. Have a nice day.

  2. Hot and sticky about sums it up! Would you believe I’ve never used a clothesline? And honestly I doubt my mother ever did either. We’re all so used to dryers here in the States I don’t think most of us could function without one! Wonderful looking books. I read The Islanders and enjoyed it though it didn’t quite have the tone I was expecting. Hard to explain but I’m looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it! Have a great week!

    1. Interesting about what you have to say about The Islanders, I’ll be watching to see what I think of the tone. I find it hard to know what its like never to have had clothes line! We’ve always had them. Many people here do have clothes dryers as well, but more as a back up or airing kind of thing. Most of us go for the line first!! We are a little antiquated here!

  3. Weather is crazy in both hemispheres! I will take the hot over cold though (as long as my air conditioning works). Thanks for hosting!

  4. It does seem strange to me still that it’s not hot summer where you are! It was 100 degrees here this weekend – ugh. I know you use Celsius there, but I’m sure you can relate that 100 is REALLY HOT! We just hid in the a/c.

Sounds like you’ve had some good books going lately – enjoy your books this weekend!

  5. I admit I am influenced by book covers, LOL. Fourteen degrees Celcius (had to Google) is cold; that’s like a typical day in San Francisco especially in the Sunset District where I had grown up. We are heating up to 84° today here in th east bay. Had ot run the AC yesterday.

  6. We are happy to hear that it is supposed to be a little wet this week in the US. We are hoping that will cool things down.

I’m intrigued with Bookshop of the Broken Hearted. It doesn’t seem to be available here yet.

    Have a great week!

  7. No dryer? I would be in trouble. They don’t allow clotheslines in my neighborhood.
It’s been too hot to do much of anything, but hopefully relief is on the way.
All your books look lovely. What pretty covers. Hope you enjoy them.

  8. It does seem like much of the US is having a heatwave right now! We’ve had some powerful storms blow through too where I am. It’s funny how some seasons are milder or worse than others- you just never know!

The Bookshop of the Broken Hearted and The Islanders look nice.
