It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.
Hope you all had a great week. I am just recovering from the Cricket World Cup which I know none of you, not one, are into… but its my favourite viewer sport. Our national team got into the final and played England and lost at the last moment on a rule differential. It was nail biting this morning. Fantastic game. We didn’t lose, but… we didn’t win. Congratulations to England. To our Black Caps team – so proud of you.

You read some really good books last week! Glad you enjoyed a great Cricket World Cup. I think you’re correct when you say probably none of us know anything about it. But I get being excited about a sports tournament. I love Baseball (Go Milwaukee Brewers!!). 😀 Have a great week, Kathryn!

I caved and bought The Bookish Life of Nina Hill last week. I couldn’t resist it! I don’t think I’ve read that Emilie Richards so I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you think of it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone play cricket but I’ve read about people playing it. Too bad about the end result but it sounds like it was quite the nailbiter!

THE BOOKSHOP ON THE SHORE looks good. Love her books and the word “bookshop” in titles. 🙂
I hope you like THE BOOKSHOP OF THE BROKENHEARTED. It was good, but a little slow.
ENJOY your week, and I’m glad you are recovering from The Cricket World Cup. 🙂 🙂

The Bookshop of the Broken Hearted was much more literary than I expected. I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of it.

Ha I was a little afraid of it being more literary than I enjoy, but I shall see!

I don’t get much into sports, but I’ll watch the World Series or the Stanley Cup playoffs if Boston teams are in them. I might even tolerate some football if the Patriots make the Super Bowl.
Your list has books about books and bookshops on it. That’s great. I just saw The Bookish Life of Nina Hill on another blog today. Hope you enjoy all your new reads.

I have never seen a cricket game so I just went over to Youtube and watched a snippet from the final and… it looks quite thrilling! Like a more interesting (and faster paced) version of baseball haha! Seriously though- it did look exciting, and just like with FIFA World Cup soccer I like discovering what other parts of the world enjoy in sporting. And congrats to your team!
Jenny Colgan’s book always look fun.
