For some reason May was a very good month for reading, most likely this is the most in a month I’ll read this year! Also as books began to publish I hit that button for quite a bit of book buying.

Total books read this month:  18

USA: 9
Britain: 7
Australian: 1
Canadian: 1

New to me authors:

Reading Challenge Update:

At least I got my library challenge rolling again and have read two books from the library.

Reading Club Update:

Oh my I really loved Tell Me Three Things from the Modern Mrs Darcy book club and now want to read more books by Julie Bauxbaum.

Outside Reading Highlights

I finally ordered new curtains for the house. I have been wanting to do this for years and finally gave myself the push and did it. Hope I love them when they are installed.

Looking forward to reading in June

Main Reading Goal for May was

Start reading Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry  – Yes started reading! My sub goal around this has been to read a little every day. It’s 858 pages long, small print and heavy to hold. I see it as a long term book I aim to finish in September.  I am on Page 161.

Reading goal for June

  • advance the reading of Lonesome Dove by reading a little each day.
  • read  a couple of library books.

  1. Looks like you got some good books this month! Hope you enjoy them when you get to them, and that you still get to read as much as you can this month, even if it’s less than May.

  2. Wow, what an amazing reading month for you! That is more than double the number of books I have ever read in a single month! Sounds like some good variety, too. I read a Julie Buxbaum novel a LONG time ago – I only vaguely remember her name and not thew title – it may have even been her first novel, but I do remember enjoying it. Will have to try her again.

Great month for you – hope June is even better!

  3. I enjoyed looking at all the covers and have many of the books you read or bought on my TBR. I need to read Tell Me Three Things this year.

  4. Wow some great choices Kathryn, some I’ve read and now some are going on my pile. Because of the historic flooding I would just like to wipe May off the calendar for this year. Fingers crossed the Mississippi will not reach my door, it will be close but there is still a chance. Send good thoughts
