It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

I had another good reading week, Saturday was wet and cold and a great day to read after I went to our annual Book Fair and came away with 18 books which is reasonable. Two I have put back in the bag to return next year because were double ups. Two I kept even though turns out I have them, and have read them! But on audio so will keep for a reread in print! Anne Bogel mentions this reader’s tangle when you are at a book fair like this in her essays in I‘d Rather Be Reading which I also read and enjoyed this week.

  1. Wow, 18 new books! I sadly try to avoid books sales and fairs, even though I love them – I have an entire bookcase overflowing with to-be-read books already…and it recently grew to have double layers on two shelves! gulp. Never enough time to read as much as I want Spending a rainy weekend reading sounds perfect.

Enjoy your books this week and thanks for hosting!

  2. I like the looks of that Texan book. How fun to attend a book fair. Our library has them once a month I think but I keep forgetting to take the girls.
Yeah, my little is a source of entertainment around here. She cracks me up.

  3. Sounds like you had a good book fair haul Kathryn. Ours is in July but I get so many books from publishers that I am the one doing the donating LOL. Looks like you had a great reading week too! xo

  4. I love seeing all the Christmas books coming out now. Tis the season! I’ve read only one Cathy Lamb book and loved it. I really need to read more of her books. Have a great week!

  5. Susan Mallery seems to be popular but I don’t read contemporary fiction much. I am looking forward to Christmas novels and winter themed books though! I hope you enjoy your books. Have a great week!

  6. Ooh glad to hear you had a nice little book haul! 🙂 And yes the rainy and cold weather is perfect for new books! How To Find Love in a Bookshop looks so nice.
