It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from
Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at
The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.
And so we come to October. We started daylight saving here, we always have a long one. I’ll feel a bit hung over most likely for a few days. Surprising what a difference one hour makes.
What I read last week:
I really enjoyed my reading week, all my books were very good. Loving Jennifer Ashley’s cozy mystery series. and How to Walk Away sort of pulled me in and made me just go on reading.
What I am reading now:
And I am listening to…
Up next:
This is a YA book and was recommended by a librarian. It is #3 in a series and I haven’t read the other two but think it’ll stand alone enough. It is about a religious cult. Fleur Beale is a New Zealand author. I haven’t read her before so I guess its time!

I will have a short review up next week Pat, but the short one is I gave it 5 stars. It kind of reminds me of what’s happening in Washington re appointment of new judge. Dare I say that out loud!!

I know Patty, some weeks are good, and then some not so good when it comes to reading. But when I am totally choosing what I read I find the books go well!

Yes! They did for you! Did you have a stack ready or just randomly choose? What about quilting?

I love the Jennifer Ashley series! I think it’s one of the cozy series that I’m really the most excited about. What did you think of Emily? I like her though I don’t think she’s a favorite though I know many people love her. I really enjoy all of Montgomery’s books with the exception of Mistress Pat. The cover of The Lilac Bouquet is gorgeous! I’d read it just for the flowers. Beartown is on my maybe list so I’m really curious to see your thoughts on it!

Looks like you had good reading last week. Florida voted not to continue Daylight Savings changes which I am in favor of.
I’ve heard good things about Beartown. I really enjoyed The Lilac Bouquet and hope you are enjoying it too. Happy Reading and Listening!

I think I heard Beartown was good. I’ll look up that Lilac Bouquet one. I started the audiobook for Anne of Green Gables. I forgot how that girl can talk. I think I’ll have to multitask while listening to it because I’m worried I won’t be able to finish it in time.

I’ve heard such good things about Beartown! I haven’t read any of Backman’s novels yet, but he is high on my list. Hope you enjoy it.
Enjoy all your books this week – and thanks for hosting!

At least we fall back this time of year. An extra hour of sleep the first night makes me happy. Great list of titles this week. I love Lucy Maud Montgomery, but Emily of New Moon was never my favorite. I have it here. Maybe I should try again to see if my opinion has changed.

I’m not a fan of daylight saving, makes summer days awfully hot until 9-10 at night where I live. But I love it when I’m on holidays! Go figure 🙂

Daylight Savings Time always takes a few weeks to adjust to. Leverage in Death is probably my most anticipated book of the month.

I’m currently reading Star Crossed by Pintip Dunn, I’ve totally been in a reading slump this week though because I was trying to read a SUPER slow paced book and it just wasn’t going well .
