It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!
Congratulations to Kathy from Inside of a Dog who won the commenting giveaway from last week. She chose

This week I’ll again be randomly choosing someone from the link up for a book of their choice from the Book Depository. August is my favourite month!
I am so enjoying reading the books I really want to read during August so its making me be very careful about just taking on review books without too much thought in the future. I like my idea of focusing on particular kinds of books in a month, so next month I am thinking that I’ll have a bit of a focus on covering some of the reading challenges I am doing.
What I read last week:
Loved this one.

I also finally finished listening to this one which I ended up really enjoying and look forward to #3 I guess in 2019.

And then I powered through this cozy mystery, such fun on audiobook.

What I am reading at present:

And listening to this second in the series cozy mystery.

Up next:
And most likely will read this one next. I am so enjoying reading all actual books this month and giving my Kindle a holiday!

Again, I found several books on the link up and your post that sound like good reads! Interesting, I’m finding it hard t read ebooks lately…..the “feel” of a hard copy book is so familiar…… Thank you for posting and hosting! 🙂

To my mind there is nothing like an actual book in your hand and a book on a shelf!

I love that Mariah Stewart series though her other series is a bit more inconsistent. Some I’ve really liked and some I haven’t and some were kind of dull. I’m so glad you enjoyed the Royal Spyness series! I did feel like it got a little weak in the middle but I really loved the last one. Susan Wiggs is a favorite but there are so many of her books that I haven’t read yet. Hope you’re having a wonderful week!

I am with you on Mariah Stewart and her books. I have now listened to two of Royal Spyness books and will rest them now for awhile! Once I’ve read a few I can probably skip here and there! This Susan Wiggs book was superb.

You are disciplined to concentrate on certain books during a month. I want to read that Bowen series as I wasn’t overly impressed with the Mollie series.

Stefanie you might not be impressed with this one either! Its very light but fun and in small doses is entertaining.

I don’t know how long it’s been since I had a week of actual books! If it weren’t for ebooks, I wouldn’t get much reading done. Glad you are enjoying yours!
Have a great week!

I’m very distracted by all the new shinies…even book sales…when I really need to read more from my bookshelf! I was doing really well with taming my review requests but I have a backlog again. I have been doing well with my reading challenges, trying to choose books that will help me fulfill them. Around this time of year is when I really need to buckle down and make smart choices to finish them!!
I’ve wanted to read Her Royal Spyness series for a long time! It’s on my neverending list. Have a great week, and I’m glad you are enjoying your month of free choice reading 🙂

Been dying to read the Rhys Bowen books — they’re on my everlasting TBR. Good Luck With That seems to be a controversial read — looking forward to your thoughts on it!
I’m hoping to finish Theodora Goss’ The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter this week!

Yes have seen some of the controversial talk, I think I’ll like it though. Will be interesting to test that theory!

Yes its great. I see that the narrator died at the age of 48 – so sad. They have a new narrator for the latest one, but I am a long way from that one!
