It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

This week I’ll again be randomly choosing someone from the link up for a book of their choice from the Book Depository. August is my favourite month!
I am so enjoying reading the books I really want to read during August so its making me be very careful about just taking on review books without too much thought in the future.  I like my idea of focusing on particular kinds of books in a month, so next month I am thinking that I’ll have a bit of a focus on covering some of the reading challenges I am doing.

What I read last week:

Loved this one.

I also finally finished listening to this one which I ended up really enjoying and look forward to #3 I guess in 2019.

And then I powered through this cozy mystery, such fun on audiobook.

  1. Again, I found several books on the link up and your post that sound like good reads! Interesting, I’m finding it hard t read ebooks lately…..the “feel” of a hard copy book is so familiar…… Thank you for posting and hosting! 🙂

  2. I love that Mariah Stewart series though her other series is a bit more inconsistent. Some I’ve really liked and some I haven’t and some were kind of dull. I’m so glad you enjoyed the Royal Spyness series! I did feel like it got a little weak in the middle but I really loved the last one. Susan Wiggs is a favorite but there are so many of her books that I haven’t read yet. Hope you’re having a wonderful week!

    1. I am with you on Mariah Stewart and her books. I have now listened to two of Royal Spyness books and will rest them now for awhile! Once I’ve read a few I can probably skip here and there! This Susan Wiggs book was superb.

  3. I am hoping to use September for TBR reading while also keeping up with NetGalley titles.
You’ve had some good reading like Susan Wiggs and Rhys Bowen. I hope this is another good week for you. Happy Reading!

  4. Ahhh Where has August gone, summer is almost over here and I’m never ready for winter. Great line up Kathryn. I’ve got two books going, I’m reading Whisky and Weddings #3 Maybe for You and listening to Hank Phillipi Ryan’s upcoming book Trust Me

  5. I’m very distracted by all the new shinies…even book sales…when I really need to read more from my bookshelf! I was doing really well with taming my review requests but I have a backlog again. I have been doing well with my reading challenges, trying to choose books that will help me fulfill them. Around this time of year is when I really need to buckle down and make smart choices to finish them!!

I’ve wanted to read Her Royal Spyness series for a long time! It’s on my neverending list. Have a great week, and I’m glad you are enjoying your month of free choice reading 🙂

  6. Been dying to read the Rhys Bowen books — they’re on my everlasting TBR. Good Luck With That seems to be a controversial read — looking forward to your thoughts on it!

I’m hoping to finish Theodora Goss’ The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter this week!

  7. Lots of awesome books. I have never read Rhys Bowen, but I have books here. Just need to whittle down my TBR pile. Hope you have a great week.
